5 Things Friday

1. I'm heading to a baseball game tonight with my two sisters, 15 month old, hubs, cousin, dad and dad's wife (she actually prefers to be called that over stepmom!).  The funny part is, one of my sister's, Lexi, isn't my dad's daughter.  The cool thing is that that same sweet sister (who also happens to be the most well-rounded 16 yr old I know) is taking one for the team to be me and hubs' DD!  Love you, Lex!

2. I'm really considering working the second part of the day from home so that I can go running, clean the house and take a shower before tonight's festivities.

3. It took a lot for me to MIS-match Teagie's clothes this morning for 'Mismatch' day at daycare.  I literally cringed when I dressed her in a navy and white polk-a-dot cardigan, green and white striped tank, and pink capris, with flowered socks and dress shoes, but then I remembered how fun it was to be participate in school spirit!!!  She still looked CUTE!

4. I have a million coupons on my kitchen table, a ton of baseball card holders in my car, and this weekend, I'm planning on clipping and organizing so I can be like those Extreme Couponers on TLC!

5. I've done so well on my goals this week, and I'm VERY proud of my sitck-to-it-ness!

Summer Obsessions

Super shimmery eyeshadows: Especially Hard Candy duo in High Maintenance.

pansy
Nail Polish:
I'm giving essie another try.  Particularly-turquoise & caicoschinchilly & pansy :)  A while ago, I heard all of the buzz about how amazing this polish is and how all of the celebrities are hooked on it, I went out and bought Ballet Slippers.  When I put it on my nails, I wasn't impressed.  Perhaps it was the color that I chose, but I didn't think that the quality of the polish was worth the $8.

White Jeans:  I got mine from Old Navy for $3.98--in a size 8 might I add!  They're CUTE!

Jewelry:  Cheap jewelry!  I'm loving Forever21's ridiculously cheap prices and SUPER cute jewelry.  They dress up the most basic t's.

Recipe: Quick & Easy Shrimp Alfredo

Last night for dinner we had Shrimp Alfredo which is always one of my family's favorites...and SUPER easy!
Quick & Easy Shrimp Alfredo (we made ours with whole wheat penne noodles)
3/4 package of whole wheat penne pasta
1 jar RAGU Alfredo sauce (we use RAGU 50% less fat Parmesan Garlic)
1 whole zuchinni
1 whole yellow summer squash
3/4 lb cooked shrimp (we use fresh, but frozen is just as yummy)
pinch of crushed red pepper

Cook noodles according to package.  In a separate pan, sautee together the roughly chopped zuchinni & squash in garlic and olive oil until veggies are softened.  Add shrimp.  When shrimp becomes warmed throughout, add jar of Alfredo sauce to veggie and shrimp mixture.  Pour over noodles.  **For extra heat, we like to add a dash of crushed red pepper, however we omit it in our 15 month old daughter's serving.

We always try to have a serving of fruit with our dinner, so we added some strawberries with the dish.  ENJOY! :)

Hoppy Belated Easter

I never got around to sharing a piece of our Easter festivities, but I wanted to share some fun things that we did this year while hubs was out of town. Tear.

My sister came over and we decorated three of these cute little bunny cakes.
My sister and I spent all of the day before Easter together.  She was my Sponsor for my Confirmation at Easter Vigil.  It was a VERY special night for me.  Extremely. Emotional :)

Spring Fling--Playing Super Mom AKA Single Parenting

My goodness, life has been crazy lately, but on a good note only four more days until I'm no longer a single parent! Thank you Dear Lord--and hubby :)  So I've been busy playing super mom these past few weeks, but I've managed to take some time to do things that make me me.  I've spent several of my lunch hours at Hobby Lobby, Big Lots, Wal-Mart, and the the mall.  Here are some of my finds:

The five point start that I've been holding out on. SALE at HL all wall decor was 50% off. I got two of these stars for $11 something a piece!
I needed a cute dress for Easter Vigil Mass.  I found this one at Express on SALE for $24.99!
I've also managed to log a few an hour or so with my cricut.
And I found the perfect addition to our back porch...finally!
We've been able to take a few long walks around our neighborhood...Frankie likes to come, too :)
We're ready for some beautiful weather so that we can start utilitzing our back porch and taking nightly walks as a family.  So excited to have BBQ's and family get togethers.  Bring on SUMMER! oh wait, we still haven't hit Spring yet, and it's freaking May! Darn Michigan weather, anyways!
